Situated in the heart of the Champagne vineyards, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, our region is an ideal destination for lovers of nature, heritage and the good life. Amidst vineyard-covered hillsides, picturesque villages, forests and panoramic views of the Marne Valley, set off to discover Champagne in a different way… by bike!
We offer a range of cycle loops designed for all abilities, from gentle rides to more challenging adventures. Whether you opt for a day trip or a two-day getaway, each route invites you to explore the region’s treasures at your own pace.
Designed as an invitation to slow down and explore the region at your own pace, our new cycle loops are aimed at both regular cyclists and those who enjoy leisurely bike rides, particularly on electric-assist bikes (e-bikes). Each route immerses you in the authentic spirit of Champagne, combining nature, culture, gastronomy and encounters with locals.

As the route unfolds, the loop passes through a wonderful variety of villages in the Champagne region, nestled amongst vineyards, valleys and forests. From Aÿ-Champagne, a ‘Petite Cité de Caractère®’ in the heart of the vineyards, the route heads towards the hillsides of Mutigny and Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, offering superb panoramic views of the vineyard-dotted countryside. Further down, along the canal, Bisseuil, Tours-sur-Marne and Condé-sur-Marne offer a more peaceful atmosphere, set to the rhythm of the water and nature.
The route then continues towards the great terroirs of Ambonnay and Bouzy, renowned for their characterful wines, before reaching
lesser-known villages such as Val de Livre, Fontaine-sur-Aÿ and Avenay-Val-d’Or, nestled amongst vineyards and valleys.
As you head back up towards the Montagne de Reims, the atmosphere becomes more wooded, with Germaine, Saint-Imoges and Nanteuil-la-Forêt set in the heart of a preserved natural environment. The arrival in Hautvillers, the cradle of Champagne, marks a highlight of the route, before a spectacular finale in Champillon, then Dizy, with superb panoramic views over the Marne Valley and a return to Aÿ-Champagne.

Échappée douce en Champagne A more leisurely 79.7 km route spread over two days, ideal for making the most of the scenery, the views of the vineyards, wine tastings at the vineyards and gourmet breaks in the villages of Champagne.

A 40.2 km loop that alternates between forest tracks, vineyard-covered hillsides and panoramic views of the Marne Valley, offering a chance to immerse yourself in nature in the heart of the Montagne de Reims. |
The routes suggested by the Tourist Office are provided for guidance only. Cyclists are advised to remain vigilant and to observe the Highway Code throughout their journey. Some sections follow roads open to traffic and require cyclists to share the carriageway with motorists. Wearing a helmet is strongly recommended.
